The investment is part of a larger global strategy for
Oberon Media and Infinity, which includes expanding the casual
game publishing and distribution business and establishing new
partnerships in China, Infinity said today in an e-mailed
statement.
``We are in dialogue with several potential portfolio
companies where an investment may be synergistic with our gaming
cluster strategy,'' Mark Chess, a senior director of Infinity,
said in the statement.
Infinity Equity, which was founded by Clal Industries and
Investments Ltd. of the IDB Group, manages two Israeli-Chinese
funds that invest in Chinese businesses that can help Israeli
and foreign companies penetrate the Chinese market. New York-
based Oberon develops gaming platforms and casual games used by
companies including Microsoft Corp., Comcast Corp., Verizon
Communications Inc. and France Telecom SA. |
