Amir Gal-Or, founder & managing partner of the Infinity Group/Infinity I-China

Mr. Amir Gal-Or is an international private equity/venture capitalist with a stellar track record in identifying, leading and building growth companies and securing significant returns for fellow investors. He is well known for having successfully infused new life into a series of floundering companies and managing them through to M&A or IPO.

In the last few years, Mr. Gal-Or has led four IPOs, 12 M&A deals and eight alliances. Examples include: Shopping.com, online shopping (IPO NASDAQ:SHOP) and acquired by Ebay (2005); Saifun, semiconductor company, (IPO NASDAQ:SFUN 2005); Applisonix, hair removal devices (IPO TASE:APLS 2007); ProSight, management solution, acquired by Primavera (2006); Nanomotion, motor and motion systems, acquired by Johnson Electric (2005); Scitex Vision, printing, acquired by HP (2005); Native Networks, telecommunications, acquired by Alcatel (2005); Shellcase, semiconductor company, acquired by Tessera (2005); Maayan Ventures, incubator, (IPO TASE:MAYN 2005); Iomai, medical devices, (IPO NASDAQ:IOMI 2005); Sightline, medical devices, acquired by Stryker (2006); Identify, software, acquired by BMC (2006); ProActivity, software, acquired by EMC (2006); and, CogniTens, industrial equipment, acquired by Hexagon in 2007. Recent high profile activities include the October 2009 partial exit from Digital China that produced a 3x return in less than one year and the proactive leadership of Power Paper, developer of micro-power, clean, printable power sources.

Mr. Gal-Or is the founder and managing partner of the Infinity Group, the leading Chinese-Israeli management and investment fund, managing more than US$700 million through nine funds, seven in China. Infinity I-China, the world leader in Chinese international RMB funds and Infinity’s second China-Israel fund, is backed by Clal Industries and Investments Ltd. from the IDB Group, China Development Bank and CSVC, as well as by the governments of Israel and China. Infinity I-China serves as a bridge for Chinese companies that want to integrate technology and know-how to compete internationally and non- Chinese companies, with proven technology, seeking to capitalize on the Chinese market. Sectors of focus include: medical device and services, information technology, agriculture, materials, water and clean technology.

In 2004 Mr. Gal-Or championed the establishment of the first limited partnership on shore equity capital fund in China (China fund No 00001) and the predecessor to Infinity I-China, the Infinity-CSVC Fund, an alliance between Infinity/IDB and Suzhou Investment arm, CSVC (now SVG). Mr. Gal-Or is also a co-creator of the new IP Bank headquartered in Suzhou, China. The IP Bank in Suzhou is the first of a series of IP Banks in China intended to centralize the technology cooperation and investment activity in both Israel and China of Infinity and its respective partners at the various Infinity JV funds across the country.

Mr. Gal-Or earned an MBA from Tel Aviv University and is a graduate of Harvard University's program in venture capital and private equity investments. He is a former pilot in the Israeli Air Force and its acrobatic team, where he flew the F-16, the F-4 and the A-4. Mr. Gal-Or is a member of the World Economic Forum.
